Grilamid is a nylon compound that offers increased durability while being extremely lightweight. These frames are flexible and allow the temples to shape the head and face to provide a more comfortable fit.
Rapid interlock system (RIS)
The Rapid Interlock System (R.I.S.) allows for a quick conversion from sunglass to goggle simply by removing the temple and inserting a goggle strap or vice versa.This unique technology for changing back and forth from sunglass to goggle is designed in such a way that only you know this technology is present with your sunglass/goggle.

Asian fit frames have a narrowed bridge allowing the frame to sit comfortably on your nose preventing slipping and sliding. Asian fit is made for lower bridges or high cheekbones.

Base curve is the front curve of any lens. The higher the base curve number, the more curved the lenses are, thus making the frame wrap around closer to the sides of the head.

Closed Cell foam
This type of foam provides low water absorption while being weather and chemical resistant. It also lasts longer than most other foams.
Open cell foam
This type of foam is lighter, softer and absorbs sweat. Open cell foam also provides a better seal or fit because it is softer and adapts to the contours of the face.
This type of foam is flexible and durable, made out of a synthetic rubber sponge material that provides good thermal and moisture insulation.
This type of foam is removable from the frame and is not sealed to the frame.

Optically Correct Lenses
Optically correct lenses prevent headaches from extended wear of eyewear. Non-optically correct lenses cause continuous refocusing due to distortion. This places a large amount of strain on the eyes and can eventually lead to headaches, nausea and dizziness. All Bobster styles come with optically correct lenses.
Impact Resistant Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate lenses are up to 10 times more impact-resistant than plastic or glass lenses and they also provide 100% protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. They are also lightweight, adding to the comfort of your eyewear.
Polarized lenses contain a special filter that blocks intense reflected light, it also helps in reducing glare and haze so your eyes are more comfortable and you can see better.
100% UVA and UVB Protection
Protects and blocks ultraviolet light this type of light can be the most damaging. All Bobster® lenses have 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Bobster® photochromic lenses are available in a variety of eyewear styles and are precisely designed to automatically darken/lighten to the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light that reaches the lens. The advantage of a photochromic lens is that you can wear your eyewear all day and not have to carry multiple sets of eyewear with you or change your lenses according to light conditions
If you don’t want multiple pairs of eyewear, but need different lens colors for all types of lighting and weather conditions, then Bobster®eyewear with interchangeable lenses are for you. Interchangeable lenses can be easily changed out by removing the lens from the eyewear frame and inserting different colored lens into the same frame.

Provides 100% UV Protection
A hydrophobic coating repels water, moisture, dust and dirt from residing on the lens aiding for better visibility. Water will bead and roll off lenses quickly and smudges can be easily wiped away.
Oleophobic coating provides a certain amount of finger smudge resistance to your lens; it doesn't make it fingerprint proof, but keeps the grease at bay, not allowing it to adhere to the lenses. This is why a simple wipe with a soft cloth will often leave the lenses looking brand new, without the use of any extra cleaning solutions.
Anti-fog coating provides fog free vision to help see clearly longer.
Multi-Layer Mirror Coating
Multi-layer mirror coating is composed of extremely thin layers of titanium and silicon oxides. This coating eliminates up to 97% of infrared rays and 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Some Bobster® eyewear complies with European Directive 89/686/ECC in accordance with standard Pr-EN-1836:2005/A1:2007- and is noted with a CE mark throughout the catalog and on the eyewear itself.
Some Bobster® styles meet the U.S. military’s Ballistic Fragmentation Test according to the MCEPS (Military Combat Eye Protection Systems) requirements, which supersede ballistic testing standards MIL-V-43511C and MIL-PRF-31013. Glasses are impacted with a 0.15 caliber, 5.8 grain, T37 shaped projectile at 640 to 660 feet per second.Goggles are impacted 3 times with a 0.22 caliber, 17 grain, T37 shaped projectile at 550 to 560 feet per second.Eyewear is considered a failure if any parts of the frame or lenses crack or separate from one another.
Some Bobster® styles are ANSI Z87 approved for use as safety glasses and are ideal for law-enforcement, military, construction, laboratory, or industrial usage. These glasses were put through rigorous testing for optical quality, impact resistance, ignition rates and more, making them appropriate for use as safety glasses.
Approved by OSHA for use as safety glasses, but please check with your supervisor to ensure it protects against the hazards specific to your job.
