ANSI Z87.1-2003 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE SAFETY EYEWEAR STANDARD
Select models of Bobster® Eyewear are ANSI Z87 approved for use as safety glasses and ideal for law-enforcement, military, construction, laboratory, or industrial usage. These glasses were put through rigorous testing for optical quality, impact resistance, ignition rates and more, making them appropriate for use as safety glasses.
Certain Bobster® Eyewear meets the U.S. military’s Vo Ballistic Fragmentation Test according to the new MCEPS (Military Combat Eye Protection Systems) requirements, which will replace old ballistic testing standards MIL-V-43511C and MIL-PRF-31013.
- Glasses are impacted with a 0.15 caliber, 5.8 grain, T37 shaped projectile at 640 to 660 feet per second.
- Goggles are impacted 3 times with a 0.22 caliber, 17 grain, T37 shaped projectile at 550 to 560 feet per second
Eyewear is considered a failure if any parts of the frame or lenses crack or separate from one another

Certain Bobster® Eyewear comply with European Directive 89/686/ECC in accordance with standard Pr-EN-1836:2005/A1:2007- Sunglasses and sunglare filters for general use and filters for direct observation of the sun.
Personal Eye Protection- This is typically the standard/specifications used by Europe for safety glasses/goggles including use as military eyewear.
