RENEGADE CONVERTIBLE, BLK FRAME, PHOTOCHROMIC LENS

The Renegade has unique styling and convertible function that sets it apart from other eyewear in its class. The Renegade has photochromic lenses that start out clear (V.L.T. 88%) and darken to a light smoke color (V.L.T. 45%) while in bright sun light. This eyewear also comes with removable closed cell foam to ensure a tear free ride while cruising.

Well, I tried these out and bought them before I read all of the bad reviews on here. When I first tried them on, I walked out in the sunshine outside the dealership. I waited and waited and waited and they never turned 'dark'. So, I thought, "these are junk!" But........I kept noticing that I wasn't 'squinting' while wearing them. That's actually what I was looking for. I don't care how much 'tint' there is, what the color of the 'tint' is, etc., etc. I just don't want to be squinting while I'm riding down the rode. These glasses/goggles deal with that perfectly. The only reason I'm not giving 5-star is because while they're made in Free-China vs. Red-China, they're still not made in the USA, despite a Made in USA price.

Pro- frames fit with a full face helmet. Frames small enough to fit a women's face. Good at keeping wind out of eyes. Cons-dont darken with sunlight enough and don't lighten completely for nighttime riding. Makes for dangerous riding. Would not recommend

These glasses did not darken one bit. Left them in the sun for 4 hours, did not change at all, taking them back to the dealer...Do NOT waste money on these unless you want night time glasses.

Dont waste good money on these glasses. only good for nights. Useless as daytime sunglasses. Mine only turns a tinge of yellow in the sun. Nowhere dark enough. Instead of Photochromic, should be listed as clear only.

I purchased the Bobster Renegade goggles/glasses. This was my second pair of Bobster glasses. The first pair I owned had interchangeable lenses and I was excited to get photochromic lenses so that I did not have to bother with different lenses anymore. Well, the goggles are a quality product, comfortable, durable and with a good field of vision. However, in my opinion, the photochromic lenses DO NOT transition over the full range claimed by Bobster (88%-34% VLT)! The lenses are clear indoors, but in the bright sunlight outside there is only a barely perceptible difference in the shade of the lense. It certainly is not "smoke" and it certainly is not 34% VLT. So, if you're not concerned with the light transmission, these are a good set of goggles.
