Bugeye 2 Interchangeable Goggle, Black Frame, 3 Lenses
Wig Out over this interchangeable lightweight goggle with three sets of shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses, including anti-fog smoke, amber and clear for multiple options while riding day or night. The sturdy polymer elastomer frame contains ventilation ports to prevent fogging while an adjustable strap keeps the goggles snug over the face. This is the ideal extreme sport eyewear with open cell foam around the frame for ultimate eye protection as well.
amazing, 4/15/2009 Reviewer: Patrick from pennsylvainia, USA these googles are the best and they don't cost as much either. people complain that the lens replacement procedure is a pain but they are idiots. if you know how to change out the lenses properly then there wont be a problem. yes they are cheaper than other competitors, but the manufacturing concept is the same. suck it up! you can't get much better than this, especially for the price!
Mountaineering Goggles?, 1/3/2008 Reviewer: Steve A. from Minneapolis, MN USA Great gear, especially for the price. Took my dad (73 years old) to climb Kilimanjaro in Sept. We needed eyewear that would protect in cold, windy, dusty, and sunny conditions. And in cold, windy, dusty, and dark conditions. And perhaps snowy. I found the Bugeyes 2 and bought 2 pair. Dad had some prescription lenses ground for his. Sure enough, the afternoon we summited, it was cold, windy, overcast, with a dusting of snow. I popped in the amber lenses and was good to go. Only issue was some fogging due to the cold, but we had some anti-fog wipes and they took care of that. The goggles were lightweight, comfortable, and even looked cool in a goofy old-time-explorer kind of way!
Good goggles, 9/24/2009 Reviewer: David Myers GySgt USMC from Iraq I wear these everyday here in Iraq and they perform very well. Keep the sand and sun out so I can stand next to turning aircraft or train in the sand and sun. The glue is starting to let loose on the foam but when its hot enough to melt boot soles I can understand the glue letting go a little. I change the lenses regularly with no problems. I like them.
Wore great for one month, 2/24/2009 Reviewer: C. L. Applequist from Birmingham, Alabama After spending nearly $40.00 on a pair of these at a local retailer I was disappointed at the poor quality of the foam and the shoddy workmanship that attached it to the frame.. after one good summer ride the glue gave way and the foam started peeling off.
I also had to work gingerly to avoid breaking the extremely flimsy clips on the lenses. I actually ended up buying a cheap pair of clear safety glasses for nighttime use instead of risking breaking the clips swapping out the lenses.. once the foam gave way I stopped wearing them altogether.
If the goggles had been made with quality foam attached securely to the frame I would still be wearing these today. As it stands they are in the bottom of my junk drawer.. not worth the time to RMA them back to Bobster.
lens problems, 1/25/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous from Tennessee I was very disappointed with this product. The lens clip broke off of the smoke gray lens the first time I tried to change the lens. The foam was also not good quality for the price that I payed for the goggles. I am very unsatisfied with these goggles.
Fragile, 6/22/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous from VT I broke the lens prong the first time I tried to remove one. Pretty cheap stuff.
Lens changing and vents, 5/23/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous from Seattle, WA Well, It's not just me, but others too. It is a pain trying to remove or re-install the lenses. The first day I tried to change them, the prongs on the smoke frames broke and one off the clear ones while trying to remove them or re-install them. Not sure when, especially on the road on your bike. This happened the first day I had the goggles. I am extremely disappointed on how easy the prongs can break for goggles this expensive. I suggest some improvements. make stronger lenses clips to interchange them. Incorporate screening in the open vent holes so small bugs can't fly in. I had to pull off the road on my bike and clean a bug out of my eye that flew up through the vent holes. A little denser foam that doesn't break down as easy would make them more comfortable. There is no way I'm paying $150 for new lens now that I know the prongs can break again on. sorry.
Transfering of the lens, 2/9/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous from New Orleans, LA I don't know if its just me but I had the hardest time transfering the lens from smoke to clear. In fact I broke both prongs on the smoke frame while trying to remove them. This happened minutes after I purchased the goggles. I was and am extremely disappointed at how easy the prongs on the lens broke. Is there a scince to getting the lens off?
